asbplayer is an open-source browser extension and webpage that makes it easy to mine sentences from video files as well as video streaming sites such as Netflix and Youtube, and many other streaming sites. This page shows how to install the extension and how to use it with Netflix, with some tips for Youtube.
The guide assumes you are already familiar with sentence mining and Anki cards (e.g. sentence mining using Yomichan), and have a note type you use for mining.
Click this link to install the asbplayer browser extension directly from the Chrome store.
The following instructions are for installing from the Github release page, in case you cannot install directly from the Chrome store for whatever reason.
Download latest release .zip file:
Releases · killergerbah/asbplayer
Unzip it into a convenient location.
Go to chrome://extensions/ and toggle the switch at the top right of the page to enable Developer mode.
Click on Load unpacked and in the file dialog select the directory where you unzipped the release.
The extension will then be listed in the chrome://extensions/ page.
Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access:
